Coober Pedy Opal Mounds
Coober Pedy Opal Mounds
Coober Pedy in central Australia has the most incredible landscape; at once harsh and barren, but also dramatic and beautiful. The mounds left by opal mining test-drill holes scatter the landscape as far as the eye can see. The result is an overwhelming sense of expanse and isolation in an alien landscape. Man’s constant need to explore by destroying can occasionally make something beautiful and bizarre in the process.
